Another good week under our belt. I've been super busy at work, but have hosted a bunch of successful events so that's good. We've also hired a Communications intern for the summer so maybe my office will actually get organized. HA! I promise I'll let the intern do more then just organize my stuff.
This weekend was busy. Friday night was relaxing - hung out at the house and let Peyton play out in her backyard. She enjoyed her play set now that the grass has been mowed and she can play inside of it. She also learned out to "grease up" her slide by using wax paper. Dad's idea of course. She now hauls butt down the slide.
Then on Saturday morning we had our 2nd swim lesson. Lots of fun. She wasn't sold immediately though. When I opened the door to the pool deck she had immediate 2nd thoughts and started to cry a bit. I had to pick her up and carry her in. Fortunately we got there a little early so she was able to take it all in. She did improve from last week. She now kicks on her own while wrapped around my neck and she was much more at ease in the water. Granted we didn't do the under water dip until the end of class this time so that helped. I'm looking forward to next week to see how she does. Then we'll have our final class when Karen and Bob are here so they are looking forward to seeing her graduate!
We both came home and took at 3 hour nap. Ahhhh! I look forward to weekend nap times. We were supposed to go to a Fish Fry Saturday night, but the weather was a little shaky so we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then home. When we pulled into the driveway Peyton started crying and saying "home no." So Dad asked her if she wanted to go to the park. The response was an enthusiastic "yeah!" Off to the park we went for an hour and half. She loved it. She did have another first - she used the big kid swing and really enjoyed it until she flipped out of it. Nice, eh? It was toward the end and she was getting tired and kept leaning forward. Dad said "Peyton sit up straight or else" and with that she flipped over. She landed on her back, looked up at us and said "help! help!" Very calm with no tears. I was proud she responded like that, but she knew it was her fault. So....we went to get homemade ice cream at the local farm to make up for it! Yum! Banana is what we had. We sat out on the front porch, rocked in the big rockers and ate our ice cream. Peyton sat in her own rocker.
Then today my college roommate (finally) came to visit. I was so excited they drove down from Zebulon, NC. It took about 2 hours for them to get here with the bad weather. They have not seen Peyton ever. Last time they came down was for my baby shower. Then Rob and I went to visit them in November, but we did not have Peyton with us. So it was a nice day with them. We ate Mexican (thanks Matt) and then hung out at the house. Peyton thought Victoria was pretty neat until she reached for her bear. Great....I can already see we'll have to work on the word "share!"
So off to another busy week and then Memorial Day weekend - WOOHOO!!!! I think we're going to go to the pools at work and maybe get some stuff done around the house. It would be nice to get Bristol's room painted. The crib is in, but that's about it. Lots of decision to make so her room is ready to go when she arrives.
Right now Bristol is doing great. She's moving a lot and is nestled very low. This has created some discomfort, but we're dealing. I also feel like life is a lot busier now then the last time I did this.
Rob is back from India and is settling back into life in Hawaii. We're trying to figure out when will be a good time for him to come home for the birth. Not too early, but not too late. I hope the timing all works out.

That has to be hard to figure out when he should come for Bristol's birth.
No pics of Peyton and Victoria together? Bummer!
Don't feel bad, Kel, Delaney's room still isn't finished.
I miss you. We talked about all this stuff today, so I have nothing else to add, but... I still miss you.
Sounds like a super busy weekend, but got to love the 3 hour nap! Where do you get homemade ice cream? We NEED to get together before we move. I will call this week!
Need help painting? STILL not working. I hate NC licensing more than any other state. Oh wait, this is my first one ;) We're heading out of town this weekend for D's bro's graduation but we'll be back on Monday. You have to come out to the country too sometime and check out my lovely "custom" painting, that needs to painted over. Just can't decide on colors. AGH! Tell me when adn we'll be there. M is a great helper :) But D deploys in June. (I think an email would have been shorter). Love yoU!
