Today was a great day. This morning started off fabulous with Peyton sleeping in until 9:45 a.m. In fact, when I did wake up I was totally nervous that something had happened to her. I jumped out of bed and went upstairs to find her asleep behind her door. She had her pillow and two favorite blankets shoved up against the door. I could barely open it. (She did wake up at 7:15, but I normally don't get her out of her room until 8ish. Remember she's in her toddler bed now so she has freedom of her whole room.)
Then the day went as follows:
1. Breakfast with Papa and Peyton at Zorba's. YUM!
2. Trip to PetSmart to see the fish, birds and puppies. Peyton laid down on her stomach on the floor so she could be eye to eye with one of the puppies. Gross I know, but totally cute. She's also really never seen a cat up close so she was so excited to see the kitty cats and yell out what they say "MEOW!" It was a fun trip.
3. Headed home to take a great 2 hour nap. I love weekend nap times.
4. Woke up so we could Skype with Daddy. I took the laptop outside so he could see Peyton play on her turf. She was so funny showing off for Daddy. It was a neat thing to do.
5. Off to Buffalo Wild Wings for Mother's Day dinner. Yummy!
6. Over to the park in Hope Mills for ice cream and some time on the playground.
7. Back home for a quick bath and then off to bed. So tired!
We had a wonderful day/weekend. Oh, forgot to mention that Peyton had her first swim lessons on Saturday morning. She was not too excited at first and then really hated it when she went all the way under the water. The temperature of the water was 86 degrees and her lips shivered the entire time. They matched her purple bathing suit. I think it will get better over the next few weeks. We have 3 more classes.
Happy Mother's Day to all of my girlfriends out there!!!!!
