What fun!
Christmas 2010 was great. We decided to stay home and not travel this year. What a blessing. It was nice to relax and be in our own home.
On the Eve of Christmas Eve we went to the Huse's house to enjoy some delicious food and friends. There were like 15 adults and 10 kids. Lots of fun. The children were worn out, but safe since we hired a babysitter to sit upstairs in the playroom and referee.
Then on Christmas Eve we ran errands and took it easy. I cleaned up the house some and wrapped presents. It was a low key day.
Christmas morning was fun. Peyton refused to wake up. At about 8:45 a.m. we went in to try and get her up. She rolled over and said "NO." Just like Mommy :) Bristol, however, was up and not really enthused by the presents. She was excited that Daddy was on Skype. So, she entertained him until Peyton woke up. When Peyton did wake up she was super excited to see Daddy on the computer and to get her Rapunzel doll. That was the big gift this year. Bristol and Peyton played all day with their gifts. They enjoyed every single one of them. Thank you to all of our friends and family for all the gifts. We actually just finished opening all the gifts today. The girls took it easy. They'd open a few and then play for an hour and then go back to opening. We also had AnnMarie and Emily over for Christmas dinner (Boston Market style.) That was fun. The girls are starting to get along together much better - that's WWB.
Merry Christmas to everyone. We sure are hoping that we can spend Christmas as a complete set next year with Rob being home. We will also find out next week what our fate will be. Keeping our fingers crossed that we stay in Fayetteville especially since we just refinanced both houses.
Looking forward to Grandma (Mom) coming to visit on Thursday. Yay! It will be nice to see her and for her to spend some quality time with the girls.

We spent a great Thanksgiving at Rachel's house for brunch and then AnnMarie's house for dinner. YUM!!!!! I'm still full.

Holiday photos are coming soon. We had our photo shoot on Nov. 30th. The girls were all over the place. It was a tough shoot (like always.) I'm sure Brittany captured at least 4-5 great shots. That's all we really need. So, once we get those, we'll be designing and sending out our holiday cards. I'd like to mark that off the list soon.
Bristol's 15 month check-up
We had Bristol's 15 month check up yesterday. She is actually 16 months, but she weighs 24 pounds and is 33 1/4 inches tall. That puts her in the 97th percentile for 18 month olds. Ha! She's wearing size 24 months. She was a trooper until the two shots. She went into the non-breathing cry. Scary.
Other injury updates:
- Bristol busted her head open on the side of the bed stand about 3 weeks ago. There was blood everywhere. Pretty scary. Peyton and her were jumping on the bed and Bristol was sitting down and flung backwards. She didn't cry at first. The tears started to pour when we were trying to keep her still. Called JD and he said she'd be okay because it wasn't big enough to staple. Ugh! I was more emotional than anyone.
- Last Thursday, I was pulling out the trundle bed when I walked into Bristol's room to get a blanket. I suddenly heard screaming, went running back in the room to find Bristol's mouth full of blood. She had busted her top lip on Peyton's head. And, I mean busted. There was a piece hanging down. Called Michelle to see what to do. The advice was if there was no deformity then she'd be okay. So, we toughed it out with Motrin and Tylenol. Poor thing. She looked like Angelina Jolie all weekend. She's now totally fine. The lip healed with no issues. It's amazing what the body can do.
The goal for the remainder of the year is no injuries.

A few things
1. Peyton's version of I don't know is "I can't know."
2. Peyton has mastered the art of voice inflection and uses it appropriately. Dad asked her to get him something today and she responded with "uh, okkkkkay." Hilarious.
3. Rob just got back from a 12 day around the world tour (well, the Pacific Rim at least.) He'll have to update all the countries he visited, but some of them were Cambodia, Bangladesh, Maldives and Singapore. Peyton really enjoyed saying Cambodia. (I say get back, but that means to Hawaii. He won't be home to Fayetteville until April.)
4. Bristol is starting to really understand things. She now totally gets Go Bye Bye and walks to the door to move the handle.
5. We're still waiting to hear what's next for us as a family. Rob hasn't heard if he's been accepted to the fellowship in DC. In the meantime, his boss has asked him to stay at Bragg as the S3 and delay ILE for another year. I'm really torn. Part of me wants to go to DC because it would be a nice change of pace and something new and exciting, but the other side me is really comfortable with my life here and it would be nice to have Rob around to do the "normal" things we do everyday (preschool, ballet, basketball, the lake, etc.)
6. I signed Peyton up to play basketball and I'm going to be her coach. This should be very interesting. She's pretty pumped.
7. Work is going well - I'm juggling more balls then any human should be allowed to juggle.
8. Trying to refinance both houses (by myself.) Rob has helped in the decision of which interest rate is best for us, but it's still a lot to do with my Power of Attorney. Eh!
9. The girls are constantly fighting. There are nights that I might as well wear black and white because all I do is referee. I hope it gets better when Bristol is a little older and can communicate better.
10. Christmas is right around the corner. I've done most of the shopping for the girls, but I'm blank for everyone else on my list. I've even thought about what Rob can get for the girls. I'm going to have him buy two Hallmark books that he can read the stories and it records his voice. The girls will love it.
11. Bought the girls "Elf on the Shelf" and Peyton named our Elf Sara. So, Sara flew to the North Pole last night and was in a new place this morning. Peyton thought that was pretty cool. We'll see if Mommy can keep up with it since it requires moving the Elf every night. Oh, and, Peyton sleeps with me (yea, I am lazy and just can't muster up the energy to take her upstairs every night. We're going to save that for when Daddy gets home.)
12. I've booked a session with Brittany to do the girls Christmas pictures. I can't wait. Now I need to find dresses - matching OF COURSE!

Our Princesses. Peyton picked out their outfits and what they would be this year. Almost ER visit
There we were horsing around on the bed after bath time and WHACK! Bristol fell back and hit her head right on the corner of the nightstand. White comforter - blood stained! I scooped her up and saw blood everywhere on the back of her head. Immediately I yelled out to my Dad and said "we have a big problem." Peyton wasn't really sure what to do. Dad yelled at me for not putting a pillow down over the nightstand (really?) so at that point Peyton ran into the bedroom and put a pillow on the nightstand! There was blood all mangled in her hair. Fortunately, JD answered his phone and patiently diagnosed her via voice. He convinced me that she didn't need an ER visit because the wound wasn't big enough for a staple. Thank gosh - I had no desire to head to the ER at 8:30 at night. Whew! Crisis avoided. So, she now has a knot on her head and a blood stained outfit to prove she's tough.
And, that is why her nickname is Brutus! I like to call her Brutus Maximus. She's one tough cookie.
I forgot to mention that she bit her sister the other night too. Left two top teeth marks and one bottom one. Didn't break the skin, but Peyton still has a mark. It's like WWE in this house. I can't imagine having two boys!

Happy 10-10-10
Pretty cool that today is 10-10-10. It would be awesome to have today at your birthday.
Speaking of birthdays, we also celebrated Rob's 38th birthday on 10-6-10. Peyton called and sang him Happy Birthday. It was pretty cute. We also sent him a gift. I want to make sure we say what it is because when you look back at this blog in years to come you'll think "what an odd gift."

SURPRISE!!!!! Mike had no clue we were flying to Disney for his birthday. He walked in the lobby of the hotel and all 5 grandkids went running toward him. He tried to get out of the way because he had no clue. Then he started to recognize them one by one. He was totally shocked to see Bristol and Peyton. Too cute! We had an awesome weekend.
