Swimming is such a relief

Not that I'm feeling bad or that I'm huge, but today we all went swimming at the Picerne pool and it felt so cool. Our pools at work have a beach entry so we all just hung out in the shallow end. Lorelai liked the water. She liked it so much she passed out after only about 20 minutes in the water :)) Rachel said she HAS to get a pool in her backyard for that reason.

Peyton liked the pool too. When I was under water Peyton was moving like crazy. Her little legs felt like they were swimming. I'm sure it was a relief for her as well because the pressure was relieved. It was like instant tightness when I stood up from the water. Not that I'm interested in a water birth, but I can see how women choose to do that. It would be much less pressure and probably a smoother labor. I am going for the epidural delivery!!!

So, no contractions yet. Still feel great.

No news is good news???? Maybe

So I had the long anticipated doctor's appointment today and NOTHING. He didn't even check me so I have no clue how far along I am or if I'm even far along at all. He was very short and sweet because he was on his way to a c-section. He also wouldn't guestimate how big (or small) Peyton actually is. He said "well, let's all take a guess and one of us is bound to be close to it." Ha - not funny guy. At least he was a doctor and not a midwife so you would think he gave a potentially more "intelligent" visit than a midwife. I don't feel that confident in that.

My next appointment is not until June 29th at 3:15 p.m. Yup - June 29th....2 days before my due date. So I will know nothing until June 29th. Let me take that back - I will know something if I happen to go into labor before that day. Not really feeling any contractions. I have a few crampy feelings in the lower abdomen, but that's it. Her heartbeat was 158 today so she's doing just fine. She's moving around a lot and it seems like she's trying to straighten out. Rob says she has her hands in the air going "no, I'm not really ready to leave yet."

That's the news on this front. Sorry that there's no real good scoop. I'll keep posting so everyone will know the latest and greatest.

NO BABY YET!!!!!!!

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning at 11:15 a.m. Hopefully we will know more then. I'm hoping she goes "oh, wow, you're already dilated to 7 cm. You're not in pain? That's amazing. Let's go ahead and get you upstairs and get that epidural kicking." Wishful thinking I know.

No contractions really. Every once in awhile I feel a little cramping. I guess that's a contraction. In addition, I think Peyton is getting uncomfortable. It feels like her movements are more deliberate and forceful. Kind of like "get me out of this little place. I'm ready to stretch out." She keeps kicking me on my right side as well as my ribs toward the middle of my chest. Those are the hard forceful kicks. Thanks Peyton! Mommy loves you too!

Ok, a few of your inquired about how the news is going to get out. Here's the plan:

1. Text message will be sent to those in my cell phone when we're on our way to the hospital or potentially after we've been admitted to the hospital and I have my epidural so I'm more calm.

2. Once baby is born a 2nd text message will be sent. In addition, Rachel has my email distribution list and she will be sending out a mass email with Peyton's vital information. Hopefully a picture will be included, but I never got around to that with Lorelai so I don't expect it.

3. If Rachel wants she'll have access to my blog and is more than welcome to update it.

4. Phone calls will be made well after I've been released from the hospital. Please do not be offended if you do not get a phone call. We are going to have a very busy household with lots of friends and family coming to stay. I don't expect to be chatty so I'll call when I'm ready.

That's our plan!
