No more testing

Friday morning was spent in the triage unit of Labor & Delivery. I went in for my normal NST and AFI scans and once again they were unable to get a baseline of Peyton's heartbeat. She was anywhere from 130 to 190 so they thought she was stressed. They sent me up to L&D and put me in the triage until because all the beds were full. Fortunately, I called Rob and he met me up there so I wasn't bored to death. The fetal monitoring started and we were right back to where we started. Then I received my first IV. Yup, my first. It wasn't too bad. She did a good job. Then I had to pee really bad after the first IV went through in like 10 minutes. I had to take all my cords and everything with me while waddling to the bathroom with the sheet around my waist. It was a site. Rob was laughing at me. The nurses told him that wasn't very nice.

So after about 2 1/2 hours the midwife came in. And, when I say THE midwife I mean the one and only CPT Johnston. Yup. My luck! He came in and the first thing he said was "why are you even here?" I told him the whole story and he proceeded to ask me if I felt okay and if I had a whole list of problems. I told him that I felt fine and things were great except for the testing every Tuesday and Thursday. He then couldn't believe they gave me two bags for my IV. He looked at her monitoring and said that she was one of the healthiest babies he's ever seen and that her baseline is probably higher than normal and that's fine. So he consulted with the doctor and they decided to take me off of my testing every week. We're now back to being a normal pregnant patient.

My next appointment is June 20th for my 38th week.

Here's what I'm feeling now:

1. Anxious to meet Peyton
2. Nervous about everything being ready (we assembled a lot of stuff tonight and put the car seat in.)
3. A little cramping/contractions in my lower abdomen
4. Swollen feet - very swollen
5. Tired with bursts of nesting energy

That's about it!!! Can't wait for our little princess to arrive.

oh, I haven't seen the carseat - I can't wait to see it. Is that weird?

I'm so glad the testing is over!

Red Rover, Red Rover, send Peyton right over!!

Well, at least you don't have to go through the testing anymore! Sounds like you are certainly trying to get everything ready for Peyton's arrival.
Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy- not much time left!
I have to go get ready for Lexie's Flamingo Birthday Party!

Isn't it a little strange driving around with a car seat all ready to go and no baby yet?
