I had my 39 week doctor appointment yesterday and convinced the doctor to check me. Yes, I said convince. He wasn't planning on doing it until I had asked. Odd, right? So, anyway, after a painful sweep of my membranes (he didn't tell me he was going to strip them) he said I was dilated to 2 cm. Not much progress, but at least I know something. I feel more confident that I know something.
The doctor gave me a 50/50 chance of going into labor next week. Well, no crap - I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow so any pregnant woman has a 50/50 chance of going into labor. Duh! Rob asked what the chances of me going into labor today and he said 15% chance. So we're not getting a really straight answer. My next doctor's appointment is Friday, July 6th. If I happen to go that long then they will schedule me for an induction early the following week. Let's hope things get movin' this week. The whole fam is very anxious as am I. I'm not anxious enough though to do all those wives tales to try and get her going. I figure if she's not ready to enter the world then she's not ready. She'll come when she's ready (well, unless they induce me.)
My other theory is that I am never on time to anything so what makes me think my daughter is going to be on time. Technically she is not late yet. She has until Monday to be late since tomorrow is my due date. Keep in mind that some doctor's have said my due date is July 3rd. Not sure where that came from, but according to my calculations it's July 1st. What's two days when she really has no plans of arriving :)

She better come soon....only for selfish reasons, of course. We've invaded your house for that reason specifically. If she comes AFTER we already leave, I will cry!!!

Yeah Mamma! Getting close :) When I was was too selfish to be pregnant any more and I wanted Micayla here NOW, I started walking. But I was also miserably in pain from where Micayla was resting her gigantic head so I was DONE being pregnant. Walk walk walk is my only advice if you are ready to speed things up. BUT, there is nothing wrong with putting your feet up and enjoying a good movie with Rob while you still can! Enjoy a nice quite dinner out too ;)

Outstanding!!! Hey for what its worth you are further ahead than I was...I hit my due date and NOTHING..nada...no dialation,effacement - heck she wouldn't even drop! At least you are on your way :-)
I agree with Michelle - walking is great to move things along but there is nothing wrong with enjoying these last peaceful moments!

Everyone will tell you what works for them, but its really up to Peyton, as you said. Trust me, we tried and thought preterm labor would have made me a good candidate for them to work...
I think a 4th of July baby would be great! She would really be an all american girl then :)
