The dreaded return travel

After two full weeks if vacation in FL and CT with 5 flights down and one to go we got stuck!!!  I really can't complain too much because we had a few close calls. First being a computer failure on our 5 am flight from PBI to Hartford. It was quickly fixed with a new plane and we arrived in CT literally minutes before storm Betheny hit the NE. Upgraded rental from a car to SUV for safety. We made it around CT in the snow. So then in the way home we were good until ATL. Due to all the weather out flight was pushed back from 7 to 9 to 10 then finally 11 when they said the pilot was over his flight hours and couldn't take us home. Fortunately I'm a savvy traveler and already booked us a hotel. Well, they weren't able to get us out of ATL until Moday night at 7 pm. How was I supposed to entertain a 6 & 4 year old in an airport all day???  I had already pushed these two troopers as far as they could go. So the next morning we got ro service, rented a Cube and drove the six hours home. My theory was that it was easier to have them strapped in a car than loose in an airport. Our beds felt gooooood that night!!!!
