Five years ago today I had a house full of people anxiously awaiting the late arrival of our first princess. I was having consistent contractions 6 minutes apart and decided to go on with my day. Met the fam at El Cazador for lunch then headed off to my already scheduled check up at 1. As expected they sent me up to labor and delivery and we waited more. At this point we were thinking we would have a 7-7-07 baby. At 11:19 pm Peyton Mahan Douglas was born to an audience of 5 family members and a cast of medical personnel. It was love at first site of that 9.6 pound angel. She has been holding court ever since. We love you more than words can express. Happy 5th Birthday Peyton!

| Awesome birthday cake from Harris Teeter. Funny story - Peyton picked out Angry Bird cupcakes at first. She then walked over to get the big #5 candle along with some other smaller candles. She then realized that you couldn't put the big candles on the cupcakes so she turned around and said "let's get a cake instead!" She was very focused on having the number 5 displayed on her cake :) |
