Deadly weapon

We had a very close encounter today and a good life lesson. This morning while I was on a conference call I hear Dad tell from inside his bathroom while taking a shower "GO TELL YOUR MOTHER WHAT YOU DID!". While trying to keep my composure in my call I listened a bit more and then continued on. I assumed that Peyton had spilled something or put make-up in. About 15 minutes later I went out and asked Dad what happened. Well...Peyton had let the dogs out back by herself WHILE the yard guys were enclosed inside out fence. Fortunately, we now know that Havick will ward off any intruders. Thank God the 2 guys were quick on their feet or we'd be contacting our renter's insurance. One guy jumped the fence while the other kept Havick away by using the leaf blower.

When I went upstairs to find Peyton she was hiding in my closet because she knew she had done something bad. It really was an accident. She said as soon as she let Havick out and he started barking she knew it was bad.

I walked down to apologize to the guys. When I returned I told Peyton how scared they were and that one guy jumped the fence. She said "that's funny". I explained that it wasn't funny from his point of view because he was scared. She said "ok, but that's still funny". In hindsight knowing nothing bad happened - yea, Peyton, it is funny.
