Peyton's first day of 4 year old pre-school

If only we were 4 again.  How fun!

Peyton started her new school today at St. Paul's Lutheran.  She loves it.  I let her make an instinctual decision between two schools.  One she totally freaked out at and this one she loved.  So, we went with the one she felt good about.  Her teacher is Mrs. Cole and the class is an inclusion classroom so half of the kids are developmentally on track and the other half have a delay.  I think this is going to be an amazing experience for Peyton.  She will learn compassion and so many other great things.  I hope this will set the foundation for her to always be open and willing to meet new people who might not look the same or have the same abilities as she does.

So, we started school today, which, by the way, is from 12-3 p.m.  Yes, this is perfect for my sleeping beauty who doesn't get up until 9ish.  It's also great for Mom to not have to fight the fight every morning.  Right when we walked in the classroom with our backpack on and our almost dry hair from the bath we took at 11 while eating cinnamon toast, a little boy jumped up and said "HI - my name is Colben."  Peyton was set.  She quietly responded with "hi, I'm Peyton."  Immediately she started to reach into her bookbag so she could show her decorated placemat.  She then sat down to walk everyone through the photos.  All I could hear was "that's Mommy and Daddy....and, there's my baby Bristol.....my dogs Havick and Gracie....and Minnie Mouse from the Mickey boat."  It was too cute.  She barely wanted to say goodbye to us.

Then, at pick-up at 3 p.m. we anxiously waited outside the gate to see how school was.  The door swung open and there was my leader in front.  She was the line leader and proudly marched that class down the steps and to the wall.  All while we were focused on this task we were yelling "Mommy - I have a note for you....and, I made a cat.....and, I have things in my backpack."  Yes, my child is multi-talented.

All in all it was a great day.

Now, I need to run upstairs and see if she still has her school outfit on so I can pose her and take a picture since somehow I forgot to do that today...........................................

I missed the before picture, but got the after:
