Many things to update

We've made great strides in the last few days. I will just list them below.

1. On Friday night Peyton slept from 8:30 p.m. to 4:15 a.m. That's right 7 hours. I was so out of it when she finally woke up at 4:15 a.m. It took me awhile to come to. It was a nice night's sleep for both of us.
2. Went to lunch with some friends and asked for advice on the whole eating thing. I don't think I've posted about her eating habits. She only eats about a fourth of her baby food at each sitting. If she even eats a fourth. She's just not into it. So my girlfriend advised me to go ahead and start real solids. So I did and she has slept really well since. Last night she ate banana baby food, broccoli, mashed potatoes, bread and some puffs. She ate a lot. She went to sleep at 8ish and woke up at 2:15 a.m. and then again at 5:30 a.m. and then 7:30 a.m. That is just fantastic. I'm hoping this keeps up. She does seem more into eating now that it's solids and not baby food.
3. She's standing completely on her own. She's let go of what she's holding and stand for like 3 minutes. It's really cute.
4. Peyton is cruising the furniture. It's typically after something like Gracie.
5. Havick officially LOVES his baby Peyton. Dad was joking around today and rolled up a newspaper and swatted Peyton's bottom. She didn't even react. Well, with that, Havick jumped off the couch and immediately approached Dad. We thought he was worried about the paper being out because he gets hit with that. Then he wedged himself between Dad and Peyton. It was so cute...it brought a tear to my eye. He stood there for a long time while Peyton used his hair to stand up. We now know that she will be protected. Hopefully we won't have to lock Havick up when we discipline Peyton.

I'd like to give a shout out to Lorelai for learning how to walk this week. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!

Go Peyton! She is totally at the finger food age. Puffs are the best! And sleep, well, thats awesome too! Woo hoo! Big strides in the Douglas household, figuratively and literally with the cruising!

Its so sweet how animals can be protective of young children. Sonic used to sleep by Lexie's door or on her floor and would rush to get us at the slightest peep.

Thanks for the nice words on my blog. I was a little bummed as I walked and walked, but ended up happy being able to run with Lexie and all. If I had been in the zone, I would have cruised past her with a quick high 5! You can do the 10 miler! Do it! Do it!

WOW, standing so early! She is such a little go-getter, just like her momma. That is so great! Isn't it wonderful to have other moms to go to for helpful tips? Christian is FINALLY accepting food off a spoon... at 6 months! I thought that would happen a little earlier. All in their own time I guess.

Glad to hear she is eating solids. Such a big girl!

sounds like the eating might be a bit easier...messier, probably...but easier still.

that is too sweet about Havick.

Thanks for the shout-out!
