Just when you think you've mastered it...

So my girlfriend Beth Scioletti once told me some great advice about motherhood - "as soon as you think you've mastered something, they'll throw a curve ball and you're back at square one." Oh how true that is. Not sure what happened last night, but Miss Fussy Pants decided that she wanted to eat every hour to two hours. She "normally" sleeps 4 hours at night and then wakes up to eat and goes back down for 3 hours. I guess now she's decided to be like every other newborn and wake up every 2 hours. I thought their feeding schedule was supposed to spread out at some point soon :) I know she's eating enough because my milk is flowing really well. I know she's exhausted from last night because she is still asleep right now and she went down at 10:45 a.m., woke up at 1:15 p.m. to eat a bit and now is still asleep at 3:30 p.m. Let's hope she hasn't confused her days and nights. AGH!!!! I'm hoping that she'll get up soon and then pretty much stay up for the remainder of the evening with minor naps. Then she'll be tired for tonight and will go back to her schedule. We'll see and I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks too for all your great comments about how cute Peyton is. We're really enjoying our time staring at her. Time flies when you have a newborn.

Growth spurt maybe? Just a thought. I remember them happening frequently in the newborn phase.

My vote is for a growth spurt too!!! Or maybe she just missed you and wanted to say hi ;) Hang in there, Beth is right! Once you get used to Peyton getting up every other hour, she's going to change again :) Keeps things interesting ;)

Yeah, they both are right. I felt like that was the entire first year basically... get in a groove and then bang! They switch it up on you :) Just a way for her to remind you its all about Peyton! (as if you'd forgotten)
