Happy Easter

Happy Easter to Everyone and Happy Birthday to Brady Fiston Scioletti. I'm happy to announce that our good friends Mike and Beth Scioletti welcomed their first son to this world this morning at 12:30 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz and Beth had to have a c-section. I don't know all the details yet, but I'm dying to find out. He is a gorgeous baby boy. (Funny - the name Brady is after Tom Brady, the Patriot's quarterback. And, we're kind of naming our little one after Peyton Manning, the Colt's quarterback. Great minds think alike!) We're already planning on marrying off Brady and Peyton. I guess Rob and I will have to pick up the bill for the wedding :)

On a medical note, we had our 28 week doctor appointment on Friday. Everything is running as planned. The results of the ultrasound were perfect. The technician guessed my due date as June 29th going on the measurements. Not too bad considering it's only 2 days off from the actual date. My midwife put us in for another ultrasound because the one we had it was difficult to see her pretty little face. So - we get another one!!! And, here I was complaining about the lack of ultrasounds with Army care. The midwife did say that she wanted me to lay off the carbs during my 3rd trimester because she knows I'm going to have a big baby, but she doesn't want the baby to be 10 pounds. I told her that I couldn't agree with her more :) I would prefer not to have a huge baby - I'm thinking mid-range for 8 pounds. She said she was going to monitor me closely during the last few weeks to make sure the baby stays under 10 pounds. I guess that means that she might induce if we start bordering a larger weight. She also said that taller women (over 6 feet) have easier deliveries. Let's all say a little prayer right now for that. I'm hoping 10 pushes - LOL!! I'll never be that lucky.

Also, I'd like to thank my friend LeeAnn for the cute boppy pillow that she gave Miss Peyton. It's adorable and it's the first thing purchased off of the registry. Thank you LeeAnn. Sorry we didn't get to see you this go around. Hopefully next time you're in town we'll be able to catch up.

Oh - another first. (This is a really long entry. Probably because Rob left this morning to go into the field for a week. Happy Easter to us!!!) Anyway, the other night I was laying in bed and I could feel Peyton moving all over the place. So I called Rob over to feel her. He was laying next to me on his stomach and put his hand on my belly. He felt her move a few times and then said "I wonder if you can see her move outside your belly." Sure enough. It's like an alien. You could see my belly move all over the place and watch her kick and adjust. It was hilarious. We laughed so hard - which she probably didn't appreciate it. She does react when her Daddy talks to her. She'll move around as he's talking. He's adorable. The other morning I woke up and rolled over from my right side and she decided to stay on that side. That was bizarre too. I can't wait for her to get here. We have so much to do before her arrival, but I'm getting really excited.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their day. I can't wait to see all the pictures.

Love ya,

Kel

Congratulations, Sciolettis!!! That is awesome! I can't wait to hear more details. Gosh, we're ALL about having big babies, aren't we? Well, at least they're healthy and that's all that matters. I bet Beth and Mike are in heaven right now.

Why did I not try to feel Peyton last night? I'm a moron! I need to give you the rest of the 411 from last night, too.

Happy Easter! Lorelai and I are sicky poo. She's been sleeping most of the day, which would be nice, if I wasn't blowing my schnauz the rest of the time!!!

Kel-

Happy Easter!

They induced me early because they thought Lexie was going to be a 10 pounder (to try to avoid a c-section) and it went fine. At almost 2 weeks early, she was still 8 and a half pounds so they were probably right on with their estimate. Not that you were looking for any reassurance, but I figured I would share.

Love reading your blog entries. They bring back so many memories and it wasn't even that long ago!

Keep "cooking" away!
